Dr. Hiba Khan is a medical oncologist and clinical research leader specializing in genitourinary malignancies, including prostate, bladder and testicular cancers. As part of the genitourinary cancer research team at Fred Hutch Cancer Center, a portion of her role includes enrolling patients in clinical trials.

A graduate of the University of Arizona Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health, (MPH) and the University of Arizona College of Medicine (MD), Dr. Khan also completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine and a fellowship in hematology-oncology at the University of Washington and Fred Hutch.

Dr. Khan is a member of the Hutchinson Institute for Cancer Outcomes Research, where she studies the health economics of cancer care. Her research focuses on improving the quality of cancer care delivery, with the goal of making cancer care more accessible and affordable. She also studies the impact of these costs on cancer outcomes and aims to understand how treatments for prostate cancer contribute to financial hardship for patients. By examining ways to improve the affordability and accessibility of cancer care, she aims to improve the overall quality of cancer care delivery.

Dr. Khan received both a Young Investigator Award and a Merit Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology in 2023. She has presented during the OncLive On Air® podcast about financial toxicity in patients with cancer, and her research has also been featured in Oncology Times and UroToday. She is board-certified in internal medicine and medical oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
