To our valued community,
In April 2022, we announced the exciting news that Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center came together as a single, unified organization called Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. This unified approach expands patient access to clinical trials and to knowledge about options that may be available in the future.
What this means for you
You will continue receiving the superior care you have come to expect from us from the same providers you see now. Your care team will not change. What is changing is our name, and—in a few months—our logo.

What you’ll notice
- MyChart: Between October 1-3, our electronic health records system will be updated with our new name and logo. If you haven’t already signed up for MyChart, please take a few minutes to sign up for MyChart.
- NOTE: Our immunotherapy and bone marrow transplant patients should continue direct communication with their care team.
- Patient education and forms: After October 3, you will begin seeing education handouts and forms with our new name and logo. We anticipate it will take a few months for all patient education materials to reflect our new name and logo.
- Billing statements: The bills you currently receive from SCCA will come from Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. As of October, you will see the new logo on your bills.
- Signs inside our clinics, on our buildings and our shuttles: In October, temporary signs will begin replacing existing signs. Permanent signage will be in place in the coming months. The new logo will appear on shuttles between the former SCCA and UW Medicine in October.
- Website: Between October 1–3, you will see a new look on the SCCA website with the new name and logo. If you visit FredHutch.org, you will see a similar change. Over the next year, we will have some of the same content on each website. Eventually, the sites will be combined under a single web address.
Other important information
In addition to bringing SCCA and Fred Hutch together as a single organization, we’ve strengthened our relationship with UW Medicine. While Fred Hutch is an independent, nonprofit organization, it will now also serve as the cancer program for UW Medicine. This unique relationship allows for enhanced care coordination with one of the world's leading integrated health systems.
