SCCA Care team leaders are recognized by Seattle Met; their peers for delivering the best patient care.
SEATTLE — July 20, 2018 — The 13th annual list of the best health practitioners in the Seattle area features doctors, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners, in 78 specialties, as voted on by their peers. SCCA Clinical Genetics physician Fuki Marie Hisama, MD, Pancreas Cancer physician Venu G. Pillarisetty, MD and Physician Assistant Jim Drechsler, PA-C are featured in the issue in an interview about what inspired them to each pursue a career in medicine. A total of 66 SCCA providers appear on the list.
“SCCA care team members exemplify commitment to patients and their families for the entire continuum of cancer diagnosis, treatment and survival, both regionally and beyond,” said Nancy E. Davidson, MD president and executive director of SCCA. “We are gratified to see the work of this group of dedicated professionals recognized.”
This year’s complete list, resulted from a poll conducted by Professional Research Services, a survey company engaged by Seattle Met. Health care practitioners licensed by the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) in King, Snohomish, Kitsap, and Pierce counties, were asked, “If you or a loved one needed care, whom would you choose?”
Voters nominated their peers on elements that included years of experience, patient satisfaction, and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across specialties to deliver the best patient care.
“We are immensely proud of the great care that all of our providers give the patients of Seattle Cancer Care Alliance,” said F. Marc Stewart, MD, medical director and vice president of SCCA. “They are respected by patients and their families, as well as among their peers and colleagues.”
Seattle Cancer Care Alliance doctors were named in ten different surgery specialty categories, achieving an impressive showing in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery category.
