I joined the Spiritual Health team at Fred Hutch in early 2025 serving general hematology, immunotherapy and allogeneic stem cell transplant patients at the South Lake Union clinics.
Prior to Fred Hutch, I spent several years as a Spiritual Health clinician at Vanderbilt University Medical Center/Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tennessee, where I accompanied pediatric oncology, behavioral health and trauma services patients, families and staff.
I consider story and art to be sacrosanct to my own spirituality and identity as a Spiritual Health provider. I can trace this aspect of my spirituality through my years as a classically-trained actor, my love for literature and film and my passion for holding and honoring the stories of those in my care. I find deep meaning in the privilege of sharing in the lives and personal stories of patients and their loved ones.
When left to my own devices, I enjoy spending time building worlds on and off stage with friends and loved ones, checking out new restaurants, cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers, exploring the majesty of Washington state with my wife and being menaced by our cat, Dr. Stanley Biscuits, and loveable-curmudgeon dog, Mousse.
Patient Care Philosophy
An important mentor once told me that while you can pretend to care, you cannot pretend to be there. I strive to always be there – radically present and attentive to you, to your story and to the things that matter most to you.
