Hematology

“Each patient is unique. Maintaining a holistic approach allows me to listen and understand their individual needs and concerns.”

— Erica

What do you hope it’s like for a patient to work with you?

My hope is for my patients to feel safe, cared for, empowered, and heard while I support them through treatment decisions. I believe that to provide optimal health care, you must look at the entire person, not just a disease process. Health is more than just the absence of disease and my holistic approach allows me to be a strong advocate for my patients and their family members. My intention as a provider is to not only meet my patient’s physical needs, but also their mental, emotional, and spiritual needs to the best of my ability to foster a balance for proper health and healing.

What do you value about your work?

I truly believe there is no better time than the present to be in the field of oncology. It is an innovative field that is exciting, rewarding, and forever evolving. New research, treatments, and technologies are constantly being developed for patients to receive up-to-date, evidence-based care. I value that I was given the opportunity in 2017 to submerse myself into this evolving specialty and see that my patients receive individualized, timely, and optimal healthcare.

Clinical Trials

We make promising new treatments available to you through studies called clinical trials led by Fred Hutch physicians. Many of these trials at Fred Hutch have led to FDA-approved treatments and have improved standards of care globally. Together, you and your physician can decide if a study is right for you.

Your Care Team

At Fred Hutch, you receive care from a team of providers with extensive experience in your disease. Your team includes physicians, a patient care coordinator, a registered nurse, an advanced practice provider and others, based on your needs. You also have access to experts like registered dietitians, social workers, acupuncturists, psychiatrists and more who specialize in supporting people with cancer or blood disorders.

Insurance

Fred Hutch accepts most national private health insurance plans as well as Medicare. We also accept Medicaid for people from Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. We are working to ensure that everyone, no matter what their financial situation, has access to the care they need.
