Provider Background

Area of Clinical Practice
Kidney cancer

I am a board-certified urologist who sees Fred Hutch patients at UW Medical Center - Northwest. I am the Chief of Endourology and Minimally Invasive Surgery, and the Endourology Fellowship Program Director. I specialize in minimally invasive surgery focused on kidney disease, including kidney cancer, complex kidney stone disease, and kidney reconstruction for UPJ obstruction.

My research focus centers on innovative technology for diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for stone disease. I am the University of Washington Principal Investigator (PI) of the NIH Urinary Stone Disease Research Network (USDRN). I served as the PI of the first in human clinical trial of ultrasonic propulsion of kidney stones and I am currently PI of the first in human study of Burst wave lithotripsy, a new technology to break kidney stones noninvasively.

Clinical Trials

We make promising new treatments available to you through studies called clinical trials led by Fred Hutch physicians. Many of these trials at Fred Hutch have led to FDA-approved treatments and have improved standards of care globally. Together, you and your physician can decide if a study is right for you.
