“I hope to not just treat a patient and their disease, but also to be with them every step of the way and support them through having cancer.”

— Kristin

What do you value about your work?

I want my patients to feel like they have a provider who truly cares about them and who is approachable and on their level. I value the relationships I form with patients. I also appreciate that oncology is an ever-changing field, and staying up-to-date allows us to offer patients the best options and improve their outcomes.

What do you hope it's like for a patient to work with you?

I want patients to see me as a compassionate, knowledgeable provider. It’s a very uncertain time in people’s lives, and I hope that when patients come to see me — whether it’s their first visit or their last — they feel comfortable asking questions and expressing concerns and feel like they are getting the best care they can get.

Provider Background

Area of Clinical Practice
Blood and marrow transplantation

I am a certified physician assistant who sees patients at the South Lake Union Clinic and UW Medical Center – Montlake.

I have had a lot of experience working in different states, including Arizona, Massachusetts and Louisiana. I was drawn to Fred Hutch because we’re offering the newest, most innovative therapies to patients who come from many places to get treatment here, and because we have a whole team working together to make sure our patients have the best possible outcomes.

Clinical Trials

We make promising new treatments available to you through studies called clinical trials led by Fred Hutch physicians. Many of these trials at Fred Hutch have led to FDA-approved treatments and have improved standards of care globally. Together, you and your physician can decide if a study is right for you.

Your Care Team

At Fred Hutch, you receive care from a team of providers with extensive experience in your disease. Your team includes physicians, a patient care coordinator, a registered nurse, an advanced practice provider and others, based on your needs. You also have access to experts like registered dietitians, social workers, acupuncturists, psychiatrists and more who specialize in supporting people with cancer or blood disorders.

Insurance

Fred Hutch accepts most national private health insurance plans as well as Medicare. We also accept Medicaid for people from Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. We are working to ensure that everyone, no matter what their financial situation, has access to the care they need.
