Hematology-Oncology

“My goal as a physician is to treat individuals within the context of their own lives, communities, and personal values. Each person is struggling with a unique disease process and has a unique set of needs.”

— Dr. Qureshi

What do you hope it’s like for a patient to work with you?

I cherish the opportunity to get to know my patients on a personal level, to understand who they are outside of the exam room, and to listen to their concerns and goals. I also feel that part of the physician’s role is to educate patients and their caregivers. My hope is that this will empower my patients to be at the center of their own care, and to actively partake in shared decision-making about their treatment.

How have you been personally impacted by cancer?

Several of my family members have been affected by cancer. Being a part of their experiences has deepened my commitment to working with and advocating for patients and their families as they navigate the complexities of a cancer diagnosis. It is a privilege to be a part of each patient’s care team.
