Dr. Martin McIntosh is the new head of the Hutchinson Center’s Herbold Computational Biology Program in the Public Health Sciences Division.

McIntosh had been the acting program head for several months before he was chosen for the permanent position after a nationwide search.

“Marty brings substantial expertise and experience in computational proteomics and genomics, biomarker testing and development, and other areas relevant to bioinformatics and computational biology,” said Dr. Ross Prentice, PHS director.

The role of the Computational Biology Program is growing as part of a Centerwide effort to develop and integrate the program with all scientific divisions, with PHS remaining its administrative home. In addition to leading the administrative program, McIntosh will also chair an inter-division leadership team with members from each division.
